Oh my...I didn't realize how long it had been since I blogged. So much has been going on in my life that I haven't had time to just sit down and do anything on the computer, other than studying.
As you all know I decided to go back to school to become a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant). I started on November 9, 2009 and my last night of class was on Feb. 25, 2010. In class I learned all Anatomy, how to perform venipunctures and capillary sticks, how to administer Medication, give injections, take patient medical history, vital signs, how to assist in examinations and in minor surgeries, etc. Wow I learned SO much in such a short time. My final was this past Thursday and I passed with a 100%.
I had to have 80 extern hours which I achieved at Waldman Schantz Plastic Surgery. I loved working there! Dr. Schantz is not only an amazing plastic surgeon but he is a great teacher. He taught me so much in 80hrs. After my first day there he invited me to watch him in surgery the following day. I was so excited. I had to be there at 6am but it was so worth it. Dr. Schantz said that he was so impressed that I showed up that early because every student they have had in the past wouldn't show up until 8am when the surgery was actually supposed to start. But he did tell me 6 so I was there at 5:45 :) I was offered a part time job there, since Dr. Schantz was the only one who would really need me, but a I was looking for a full time job and to top it off they didn't want to pay me even close to what I should be making starting out (they are cheap!), but I am still thankful for all that I learned while I was there.
Last week I got a call from Georgetown General Surgery about a MA job I applied for. I went in for an interview, which went well, and was called back to come back in for another interview. They are supposed to call me any minute now to let me know whether or not I got the job.
Now about my little ones. They are growing up so fast!! Callie has been singing her ABC's for over a month now. She knows so many songs now that's all she wants to do is sing. Anderson on the other hand still wants to grunt all the time. We have tried to get him to talk, which he will repeat words for us, but he would rather grunt. All they do is play, make BIG messes, poop, eat, and sleep. Like right now Anderson is throwing Chex cereal ALL over the living room. Geez!! Other than that they are so much fun! Ray and I enjoy watching they grow and learn everyday. I'm going to miss it when they grow up, it makes me sad just thinking about it :( But while I have the chance to enjoy the love and the laughter from both of them...life couldn't get any better.
