Oh My....

Oh my...I didn't realize how long it had been since I blogged. So much has been going on in my life that I haven't had time to just sit down and do anything on the computer, other than studying.

As you all know I decided to go back to school to become a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant). I started on November 9, 2009 and my last night of class was on Feb. 25, 2010. In class I learned all Anatomy, how to perform venipunctures and capillary sticks, how to administer Medication, give injections, take patient medical history, vital signs, how to assist in examinations and in minor surgeries, etc. Wow I learned SO much in such a short time. My final was this past Thursday and I passed with a 100%.

I had to have 80 extern hours which I achieved at Waldman Schantz Plastic Surgery. I loved working there! Dr. Schantz is not only an amazing plastic surgeon but he is a great teacher. He taught me so much in 80hrs. After my first day there he invited me to watch him in surgery the following day. I was so excited. I had to be there at 6am but it was so worth it. Dr. Schantz said that he was so impressed that I showed up that early because every student they have had in the past wouldn't show up until 8am when the surgery was actually supposed to start. But he did tell me 6 so I was there at 5:45 :) I was offered a part time job there, since Dr. Schantz was the only one who would really need me, but a I was looking for a full time job and to top it off they didn't want to pay me even close to what I should be making starting out (they are cheap!), but I am still thankful for all that I learned while I was there.

Last week I got a call from Georgetown General Surgery about a MA job I applied for. I went in for an interview, which went well, and was called back to come back in for another interview. They are supposed to call me any minute now to let me know whether or not I got the job.

Now about my little ones. They are growing up so fast!! Callie has been singing her ABC's for over a month now. She knows so many songs now that's all she wants to do is sing. Anderson on the other hand still wants to grunt all the time. We have tried to get him to talk, which he will repeat words for us, but he would rather grunt. All they do is play, make BIG messes, poop, eat, and sleep. Like right now Anderson is throwing Chex cereal ALL over the living room. Geez!! Other than that they are so much fun! Ray and I enjoy watching they grow and learn everyday. I'm going to miss it when they grow up, it makes me sad just thinking about it :( But while I have the chance to enjoy the love and the laughter from both of them...life couldn't get any better.

TWILIGHT

Okay let me just say that after Anderson was born I had come to conclusion that I would NEVER have time to sit down and read any book. I never was a reader until I got pregnant with Callie and I discovered that it was very relaxing to sit down and read. But after my mom FORCING me to watch Twilight then making me go with her to see New Moon on opening night, I decided I was going to read the books because New Moon left me hanging so bad that I could not wait until June 30th to find out what happens. So I drove to Wal-Mart and bought all four books and started reading.

Twilight...the BEST book I have EVER read! I fell in LOVE with the characters. I could NOT put this book down ( I couldn't put any of them down). After about six chapters in to Twilight I hated the movie. So much was left out of the movie and that mad me sad because these characters are AMAZING! The detail that Stephanie gives you makes you feel what Bella feels for Edward. You fall in love with ever single character because you learn each of their stories.

I read ALL for books, Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, in five days. During reading these I was driving 40mins one way to class, sitting 4hrs in class and another 40min drive home. I didn't sleep much, I found myself realizing at midnight that I hadn't ate all day, and I (sad to say) didn't talk to Ray at all except when he talked to me I would say "yeah", "oh"...LOL! Ray was very jealous and was happy that I finished the saga. But I started re-reading them a few days later because I was so sad not to read about my new "friends". I even read Stephanie's ruff draft of the 5th Twilight book 'Midnight Sun' online. It is Edward's point of view in Twilight. I loved it and I can't wait until she finishes it and releases it.

I'm getting ready to start Stephanie Meyer's other book 'The Host'. My mom said it was really good, it's an Adult book unlike 'Twilight' being a Young Adult book. So as soon as I finish I will let you all know how it was.

Also, I have discovered that I REALLY love to read so if you have an suggestions on some good books PLEASE let me know because after 'The Host' I will need a new book....or I can't just read the Twilight saga AGAIN (third time)! :-)

Update...Finally!!!

Wow, it has been SO long since I have wrote on my blog. But between taking care of the house, kids, cooking, and school (which includes studying) , I have very little time to do anything. My emails were over folling with junk mail, I couldn't tell ya the last time I have checked them. There is so much that has happened since my last post but I'm not sure where to begin...

Callie and Anderson are growing like crazy! Anderson turns 1 this Saturday, which makes me sad. He is running ALL over the place! He is so smart, smarter than Cal was at this age and I thought she was crazy smart! Callie and Anderson do get along way better than what they used too. Callie still takes toys away from Anderson but now he gets them back pretty easy...he's almost as tall as he and weighs the same. My friend Jennifer seen him last week, she hadn't seen him since Easter, and she was like "Oh my, he doesn't look like a baby, he looks like a little man." LOL He is mommies little man.

The kids, I think, had a wonderful Christmas. They got everything PLUS much more! My house is completely covered in toys, we have trouble walking because we are always stepping or tripping over toys. So my plan is to take their old toy and donate them to the children's hospital (hopefully I will find time).

I go to school Monday-Thursday 5:45pm to 9:45pm and on the weekends I really study hard becuase 90% of the time we have a test on Monday's. I really enjoy my class since we got our new instructor, she is awsome! We go over a chapter a night, we practice our injections, venipunctures, and capillar sticks on each other...which LUCKY me I don't have to be a pin cushion for venipuncture because they can't find my viens :-) But I do get poked for everything else, which isn't bad because we have a really "natural" class and they all are very gental! Next week we are going to learn how to take ECG/EKG (samething just different abrivations), which I'm looking forward too. We had our test lastnight over the Cardiovascular system and it was VERY hard, but I know I got an A.

Last week I was sick, this Sunday Anderson was sick, yesterday Callie was sick and now Ray is sick. My house is a mess but I think I will wait until tonight, once the kids are in bed, to do my cleaning.

P/S: I'm sorry this blog is a little all over the place just so much info and I wasn't sure really what to write about. :-( Hopefully from now on I can keep up with my blogs.

Anderson WALKED!!

CMA

For those out there who don't know what CMA is, it is Certified Medical Assistant. Now I bet your wondering why I would posting about this. Well as of Monday, I'm taking classes to become a CMA. I will have a certification in EKG, Phlebotomy, Medical Coding, and Nurse Aid. I have class Monday through Thursday 5:45pm to 9:45pm for 18wks. On top of all this I have to watch the kids while Ray is taking Medical Coding classes during the day, try to study for quiz's every Tuesday or Wednesday, labs on Thursday, and test on Monday's. When will I ever find time to study while two little one's running all over the house screaming and getting into things their not supposed too? Gee this is going to be a challenge! But I want to make sure that my kids are going to be taken care of so if that means I have to work while Ray watches them and the other way around, that's how it will be. Only bad thing is when is there going to be time for me and Ray? I'm sure we will figure something out. Just pray for us and that we are able to find the time we need to study so we can pass the National exams.

HELP!

Okay, let me just say I'm so proud of Anderson for walking, but boy do I have my hands full now. All he does is walk all over the place chasing Callie. Everyday he is getting better and better and I guess I said "HELP" in the title becuase I didn't think he he just take off this fast. Oh well..he is too cute walking and sometimes that little butt just gets too heavey for him to keep going and he plops down. My baby has grown up way too fast.
